John E. Cloar was born Nov. 23, 1844, Martha Frances Glover was born Oct. 9, 1842. John E. Cloar and Martha Frances Glover were married on Sept. 13, 1865. They lived on a farm west of Union City, which now belongs to one of their great grandsons Bill Cloar. They moved to Hornbeak some of that time to educate their children but always came home to make a crop. During their later years they moved to Union City and lived on 6th Street.

The information on these pages was written by my Grandmother, Mrs. Charlie Cloar for an Obion County History published in 1981.
